What Bosch owners usually report
B&M Canada Appliances lists the usual calls as drainage faults, an E15 AquaStop lockout, drying problems and a door latch that stops the cycle. On ovens, the list is a failed bake element or temperature sensor, an E-code, or a door that stays locked after a pyrolytic clean. Refrigerators that lose cooling and compact 24-inch front-load washers complete the picture. Bosch belongs to BSH, which also makes Thermador and Gaggenau.
Codes: a starting point
Dishwasher codes seen most often are E24 and E25 for drainage and E15 for water in the base. Washers show E18 when they cannot drain in time. Ovens show E011 and E305. These are the usual meanings on current models. Older machines and some series differ, so the technician confirms the fault with tests before a part is ordered. Write down the code and when it first appeared.
The model number saves a visit
Bosch labels carry the E-Nr and the FD production number. On a dishwasher it sits on the door edge, on a washer, dryer or oven inside the door frame or around the opening, and on a refrigerator inside the fresh-food compartment. With those numbers the company can check the part before the visit, which matters when premium and integrated models use pricier pumps and boards.
Check the Bosch warranty first
Bosch Canada’s pages list, for dishwashers, a limited warranty on the entire appliance for parts and labour for 1 year, parts-only cover on the control board and racks in years 2 to 5, and parts-only cover for rust-through of the inner tub for life. Wall ovens, cooktops and microwaves carry 1 year, parts and labour. Refrigerators add parts-only cover for electronic components in years 2 to 5. The pages add that terms may vary by model, so read your own manual. More on warranties and recalls.
What it costs in Ottawa
B&M’s visit and diagnosis is $89 + tax and is applied to the repair. Its pages put most dishwasher repairs at $150–$400 and most Bosch oven repairs at $190–$450, with a control module higher than an element or sensor. Capital Appliance Repair says most dishwasher repairs fall at $120–$380 and that a circulation pump or control board on a high-end Bosch or Miele runs higher. The price tables are on dishwasher repair cost and oven repair cost.
Repair or replace
Capital Appliance Repair favours repair when the bill is under half of replacement and the unit is younger than ten, and puts a new dishwasher at $600–$1,800 or more installed. A Bosch inside the first year, or a board within its parts-only years, is a call to Bosch before it is a call to a repair company. See repair or replace.

Who repairs the Bosch
An independent Ottawa repair company, one per request, that handles Bosch and its built-in models. It calls with its own fee and books only once you say yes. Ask it to read the E-Nr back to you so the part is right. The Desk has no tie to Bosch or BSH.
Questions to ask the company
- Do you work on Bosch, including panel-ready dishwashers and built-in wall ovens?
- Can you read the E-code on site, and will you tell me what it means on my model?
- Is the visit fee credited to the repair?
- If a part is ordered, what is the timeline and what is the fee for the return visit?
- Does your repair warranty cover the part and the labour?
Have this ready for the call
- The E-Nr and FD numbers: on a dishwasher, the label on the door edge; on an oven, the rating label around the opening; on a fridge, inside the fresh-food compartment
- The code on the display, photographed
- Purchase date or receipt, and any invoice for earlier Bosch repairs
- Built-in or freestanding, and whether the dishwasher door carries a wood panel
- A clear route to the appliance and the cabinet in front of it
Questions people ask
What does E24 mean on a Bosch dishwasher?
E24 usually means the dishwasher could not drain. The technician checks the filter area, the drain hose, the pump and the check valve in turn. B&M also lists E25 with drainage faults. Code meanings vary by model and generation, so the code is a starting point and the tests decide the part.
What does E15 mean?
E15 usually means water has reached the base pan and tripped the AquaStop leak protection. Draining the base alone does not cure it, because the leak itself has to be found and fixed. Tell the company when the code appeared and whether water is on the floor.
My Bosch oven shows E011 or E305. Is the control board dead?
B&M says E011 usually means a control button held down or shorted, and E305 and related codes are often linked to a temperature-sensor fault. Meanings vary by model. Because Bosch controls are modular, a single failed sensor or relay can often be isolated without replacing a board.
Is a Bosch dishwasher cycle of three hours a fault?
Length alone is normal. B&M notes that Bosch’s default cycles trade time for low water and energy use. A cycle that never finishes, or ends with cold, wet dishes, points to a heater, a sensor or a dispenser problem. Condensation drying also leaves some dampness on plastics.
Does the Bosch warranty cover a repair by any company?
The Canadian pages list the periods and do not say who may do the work. The dishwasher page cites 1-800-944-2904 for details. Call Bosch with the model and purchase date first, since a covered fault should not become a paid visit. Keep the purchase receipt at hand when you call.
